Proverbs 27:23 says, "Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds..."
This verse expresses the importance of measuring the effectiveness of ministry. Unfortunately, recent studies show that only 6% of churches have a specific, personal, qualitative process to evaluate themselves.
That's why we have created the Seven Areas of Life Evaluator.
The key to this tool is explained in this often quoted verse.
"The thief comes only to steal kill and destroy. I came that they might have life, and have it abundantly." John 10:10
Many churches measure the effectiveness of ministry by quantity, but something else needs to be measured. We need to measure the quality of ministry. We need to measure how much people are experiencing the abundant life.
God has a plan for all of us as his children to experience abundant life. Satan wants us to experience loss. This verse describes the battle that is taking place in every area of a believers life.
Have you ever noticed, when just one area of life is out of whack your whole life can seem miserable? For instance, you may consider your relationship with God fulfilled, your finances in order, and your health in line. But your marriage is off. This one area of life - your relationship with your spouse seems to skew your whole life experience, doesn't it?
The same is true for the people in your church.
We need to evaluate the quality of all areas of life since they each contribute to the quality of the whole.
Would you be willing to take the risk of having your congregation evaluate themselves in every area of life?
